Olivia just celebrated her seventh birthday! What a sweet, sensitive girl. We love her big blue eyes, long eyelashes and gorgeous blonde hair. Besides being beautiful to look at, she is just as beautiful inside. She is always concerned about others and is kind and loving.

Des Moines University Commencement 2010

Dad and I were able to attend Des Moines University 110th Annual Commencement Ceremony. The College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery awarded the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) degree to 52 graduates. One of these graduates was Colby H. Frost. Colby has dedicated many years of studying, hard work and sacrifice to earn this degree. We are so proud of him and Shauni.

The Frosts and Campbells. Colby and Jason have been friends since grade school. They have been through elementary, junior high, high school, undergraduate and graduate school together. Now they are both headed to Temple, Texas for residency. They both have three kids, born within months of each other.

Happy 5th Anniversary, Leslee and Kody

Alice in Wonderland

We had a girls night out and went to Alice in Wonderland. We all loved the movie. It was Tim Burton at his Best. It was a prequel to the well known Alice in Wonderland story, so it was new and fresh. The characters were amazing. Our favorite was the Mad Hatter played by Johnny Depp.

His "futterwaken dance" was hilarious.

Easter

This is the first Easter ever that I have not colored easter eggs. There are no easter baskets to hunt. There are no frilly spring dresses or cute pastel bow ties. There are no marshmallow eggs with names on them. There are no pictures with the easter bunny. Alas, I live in an empty nest. . .no eggs, and no children. I have had time to reflect today, though and have realized that I DO have many incredible blessings.

I DO have an amazing husband who loves and supports me, even through my darkest depression. I DO have children who are grown and independent, and after all that is what I wanted for them. I DO have eleven gorgeous grandchildren who are healthy, happy and well loved.

I hope you all have a great Easter Sunday. Maybe you can reflect on the blessings in your life.
